Thursday 8/28/08
If background levels are high enough, winds should be light enough
for ozone levels to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" on the
north side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and on the northeast and
north side of the Houston area this afternoon and into the early
evening. Ozone could reach "Moderate" levels in the Beaumont-Port
Arthur area and in parts of Northeast Texas. Elsewhere in the
state, moderate winds and/or lower background levels should help to
keep air quality in the "Good" range.
Friday 8/29/08
Stagnant continental air should move into East Texas with
increasing background levels of ozone and fine particulate. Winds
may be light enough for ozone levels to reach "Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups" on the east, northeast, and north side of the
Houston area and on the north and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort
Worth area in the afternoon and early evening. Ozone could reach
"Moderate" or possibly higher levels in the Beaumont-Port Arthur
area and in parts of Northeast Texas in the afternoon and early
evening. Fine particulate could reach "Moderate" levels in parts of
Southeast Texas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and/or
lower background levels should help to keep air quality in the
"Good" range.
Saturday 8/30/08
Continental air should cover most of East and North Central Texas
and may move into eastern portions of Central Texas with increasing
background levels of ozone and fine particulate. Background levels
may be high enough and winds light enough for ozone to reach
"Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" or possibly higher on the south,
southwest, and west side of the Houston area and on the west and
northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Background levels may
also be high enough for ozone to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups" in parts of Northeast Texas and "Moderate" or possibly
higher levels in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area in the afternoon and
early evening. Ozone could reach "Moderate" levels in the Austin
and Waco-Killeen areas. Fine particulate could reach "Moderate"
levels in parts of East and North Central Texas. Elsewhere in the
state, moderate winds and/or lower background levels should help to
keep air quality in the "Good" range.
Sunday 8/31/08
Continental air with elevated background levels of ozone and fine
particulate should cover most of East, North Central, and Central
Texas. Background levels may be high enough and winds light enough
for ozone to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" or possibly
higher on the south, southwest, and west side of the Houston area
and on the west and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Background levels may also be high enough for ozone to reach
"Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" on the northwest side of the
Austin and San Antonio areas and in parts of Northeast Texas and
"Moderate" or possibly higher levels in the Beaumont-Port Arthur,
Corpus Christi, and Victoria areas in the afternoon and early
evening. Fine particulate could reach "Moderate" levels in much of
East, North Central, and Central Texas. Elsewhere in the state,
moderate winds and/or lower background levels should help to keep
air quality in the "Good" range. |
