Daniel Thomas

Daniel Thomas is a 9th grader and Eagle Scout at Colleyville Heritage High School. He started his journey as a new scout in 2019 looking to gain his service hours. He volunteered with Keep Texas Beautiful replanting and seeding local prairie grasses and later joined in on park and creek cleanups.

While working toward his Environmental Science merit badge, he started a local conservation group called "Sustainability" to engage and educate youth about litter and how it impacts waterways. Every month local students pick up trash from waterways. In 2022 this group removed 1,695 pounds of trash, diverted 600 pounds of recyclables from landfills, and completed over 300 volunteer hours.
