The TCEQ contracted to get help with the review of applications
for reimbursement. All but the most complex applications are being
processed by the contractor. The TCEQ would like to maximize the
benefit of the contractor.
There are twelve types of activities in our program. Of those
activities, the contractor can review and process an application
that contains no more than four of the following ten
activities:
- Tank Removal
- PSH Recovery
- Excavation/Waste Management
- Site Assessment
- Risk Assessment
- Groundwater Monitoring
- Corrective Action Plan Preparation
- Initial Abatement
- CAP Feasibility Testing
- Site Closure.
The contractor is not sent applications that contain more than
four activities or any of the more complex activities, such as:
- Remediation System Installation
- Operation, Monitoring & Performance
Simplifying applications by only including four
activities or less in each application would help us to move more
work to the contractor and free-up staff to address
protests.
