Created by the 80th Texas Legislature in recognition of the importance that the ecological soundness of our riverine, bay, and estuary systems and riparian lands have on the economy, health, and well-being of our state

New Information The next meeting of the Guadalupe, San Antonio, Mission, and Aransas Rivers and Mission, Copano, Aransas, and San Antonio Bays Basin and Bay Stakeholder Committee (BBASC) will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 16, 2012. The meeting will be held at the San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS) customer service center located at 2800 U.S. Hwy 281 North San Antonio, TX 78212.

 

New Information The Environmental Flows Recommendation Report from the Guadalupe, San Antonio, Mission, and Aransas Rivers and Mission, Copano, Aransas, and San Antonio Bays Basin and Bay Stakeholder Committee (BBASC) was submitted on September 1, 2011 and can be found below.

Texas Environmental Flows Science Advisory Committee (SAC) review comments on the Guadalupe and San Antonio Rivers, San Antonio Bay and Aransas-Copano Bay Basin and Bay Expert Science Team (BBEST) Environmental Flows Recommendations Report, dated March 1, 2011.

The Final Environmental Flows Recommendations Report from the Guadalupe, San Antonio, Mission and Aransas Rivers and Mission, Copano, Aransas, and San Antonio Bays Expert Science Team (BBEST) was completed on March 1, 2011 and can be found here .

Basin and Bay Area Stakeholder Committee (BBASC)

The Texas Water Code requires the creation of several Basin and Bay Area Stakeholder Committees for specific river basin and bay systems listed in the Texas Water Code §11.02362Exit TCEQ. (map: geographical extent of priority basins).

These Committees have specific tasks to perform to assist with the work of the Environmental Flows Advisory Group. One of the tasks the Committees are to perform is to establish a Basin and Bay Expert Science Team. Each Basin and Bay Expert Science Team will develop an environmental flow analyses and a recommended environmental flow regime for their specific river basin and bay system.
